Sugarcane Breeding Institute of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research is organizing Training cum Study tour on “Water management for sustainable Sugarcane Production” for cane growers from different parts of Tamil Nadu state during 5 – 7 January 2010. The objective is to sensitize the cane growers on issues such as Irrigation scheduling, water saving techniques, drainage management, ground water management in problem soils and moisture monitoring, participatory irrigation management etc., by way of lectures by experts, demonstrations by successful cane growers and field visits.
