PMI NTPC

Description:
The PMI was set up by NTPC in recognition of the vital role that management development has to play, in the context of the challenges associated with the growth of the Indian Power Sector. The Institute is involved in the training and development of middle and senior level personnel not only from the power sector but from organizations outside the sector also. The PMI is commited to be a leading institute in developing world-class competencies by providing a state-of-the-art training, which responds to and proactively meets the needs of the power professionals.

The Institute has an infrastructure capable of conducting eight programmes concurrently. This year the Institute has set an ambitious target of conducting over 200 programmes of varied durations and diverse themes.

Objective:
India relies heavily on Coal and Oil for meeting its energy needs. Although India has over 20 GW capacity coming from Renewable sources connected to a grid of over 185 GW, contributing to over 10% of the installed capacity. However this contributes only about 3% to the total actual generation. The availability of coal for Power Generation has become critical in recent year and the reported shortage of coal is up to 30%. This bring into focus the need for more emphasis on Renewable energy, which needs to be pursued not only for energy security and environmental sustainability but also for its viability as an energy source for our citizens located at the remotest places and the most deprived ones.

This seminar is designed to share amongst the participants the experience of policy makers, manufacturers, academicians and other experts in the field.

Fees:
Rs. 13236/- (including service tax) per participant (DD in favour of NTPC Limited payable at New Delhi). The seminar is non residential. Participants have to arrange their conveyance & accommodation.
