Water data at your fingertips !

The Data Finder aims to bring together all water data from all over the web and put them in one convenient searchable tool so you can use it for any projects you are working on.

Currently the tool contains almost 200 sources of water-related data. We are continuously searching for more sources of data and will be updating the list as we find them.

If you are doing a research project on water, the Data Finder will help you find the sources of data related to your project by providing multiple ways to search for what you need. If you want to just find a broad range of data that is contained under a particular category, feel free to search by type. Type allows you to search categories data - just select the category from the drop down menu. If the category isn’t there, then don’t fret ! There are plenty of other ways to find data.

If you just want data about a particular state you can use the geographic spread or resolution fields to search for a particular place.

Pick which state, district or village that you want from the drop down menu. Again if there is a specific state you are looking for that is not on the list, this means that we don’t have datasets specifically for that place. However, if you select "Whole Country", then select "state" under geographic resolution then it will give you state level data for the whole country. So you will be able to find some data for the state you are looking for.

You can also search by tags. Simply start typing into the tag search and you will see a list of available tags pop up. Pick which one you want and it will list the data available under that tag.

When you find the dataset you want to look at, click on the link. It will take you to the page that contains more information and the link to the data source.

If the data you want is not there, feel free to let us know at contact@indiawaterportal.org, and we will look for it and try to get it available for search. Please also let us know if you have any suggestions or improvements that will help us create a better search experience.
