Resource guide on mainstreaming gender in water management for India - Regional language guide hardcopies and CDs available from CEE Lucknow

Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Northern regional office based in Lucknow has been working with Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) for trans-adapting the resource guide on ‘Mainstreaming Gender in Water Management’ in Hindi for India as part of the South Asia version. The Resource guide was first published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2003. This is the second edition of the Resource Guide on Mainstreaming Gender in Water Management of August 2006.

The guide is now published in Hindi for India with national level information and case studies. This is a reference document to assist water and gender practitioners and professionals as well as persons responsible for gender mainstreaming, and anybody else who is interested in the water sector. The mission of GWA is to promote women’s and men’s equitable access to and management of safe and adequate water, for domestic supply, sanitation, food security and environmental sustainability.

A CD is also developed where resource guide is available in four languages - English, Hindi, Urdu and Bangla. The auto run menu of the CD links to the four sections of the guide talking about the key areas of mainstreaming gender in various aspects of water management, case studies, reference documents, GWA focus and membership details.

The hard copy and CD of the resource guide is available with CEE North, 19/323, Indira Nagar, Lucknow; email: ceenorth@ceeindia.org.
