Conservation and research activities in the Chambal ecosystem are often plagued by lack of access to information, such as research papers and reports. Students, citizens, protected area managers and academicians find it difficult to obtain scientific literature in time. To cross this hurdle an open access databases has been compiled and launched; the Chambal Information Database (http://www.chambal-info.com). The database can be used by anyone keen to know more about the Chambal River.
There are over 150 articles in the Chambal database. The database is a means to openly share existing knowledge, which hopefully will spur conservation and research activities in the long run. Users are encouraged to contribute and details about how to do so are provided on the website.
