Rohan D'Souza, a lake expert working with ATREE, Bangalore suggested that the most sustainable way of protecting and restoring any lake is for communities around the lake to organize themselves for its protection. These communities have the largest stake in the quality of the lake and its survival, so those who are interested to work for the restoration of lakes should link up with these communities and jointly find the best solutions.
