Veolia Water (India) Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of Veolia Water France, the World's leading water utility Company. The Government of Karnataka had assigned it a Project for converting the dilapidated water distribution system in certain areas of the above municipalities, covering approximately 10% of the total population of these cities, to full fledged continuous pressurized water systems. Within short span of two years, it has completed this project. Earlier the citizens were getting water once in three or four days for one or two hours. Today continuous supply is being provided to the citizens of these places with the same quantity of water which the Municipalities were supplying earlier before starting of the Project. Even the poor and the slum are connected and there are no more common stand posts in these places. This Project has been widely acclaimed by Government of Karnataka as well as Government of India. The above Municipalities have now passed a Resolution to convert the full city to continuous water supply system after seeing the success of the Pilot Project in the selected areas.  It may be worth while for you to visit these places.  This shows that, with the existing availability of the water, cities can be provided with continuous pressurized water supply instead of intermittent supply which is a serious health hazard.
